I was able to log back on this evening and complete the final exam and the last materials. I still need to be graded on my book review and my ministry participation verification…but right now, with the other tests, units, etc. I have an 87%

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and patience with me while I completed this. I can’t believe I got it finished! Now back to my Beth Moore study and my 90-day Bible reading plan.
: )

Oh no!!!

I finished my reading in the wee hours last night and worked on my book review during my lunch break today. After home group tonight, I came home and finished it and submitted it. It’s not as long as they’d like but I think it covers what it needed to.

Anyway, I decided to throw caution to the wind and take the final exam tonight. I was cruising along to question 16 of 50 when suddenly, I got an error message. I hit refresh and it bounced me back to the main page. When I tried to access the exam again, it said there were no assessment questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t believe it. I emailed my instructor and also posted a frantic help message on our discussion board.

I’m going to bed.

Getting There

Another evening spent working on the course. I’ve finished all the units, now I just need to write a paper (need to finish the book I’m reading to write about it, however) and take the final exam. I’m getting there!!

Thanks to all for your prayers and encouragement. I will get this done – I really will – and maybe even before the end of the month!

I am tired.

I had a training I had to go to this morning, then to look at a potential office space for the church, then to the mall (can’t miss a really good sale!), then home briefly, then to a demonstration of one of my favorite things – Tastefully Simple! Then to the pet store and grocery store. Once I finally got home, put dinner in the oven and checked email, it was time to get working on my course…which I am SO behind in, I cannot even tell you. I emailed the instructor before I left for Arizona, asking if I could take an incomplete and retake it later. She wrote back that this was not an option and did I think I could finish. Well, I’m on unit 4, there are 12 units and I have to have it done by the 31st.

But I am trying. I’m in unit 5 now, but have some reading to do.

But I’d really rather go to bed!!

They Don’t Call it the Red Eye for Nothing!

Part of my whirlwind wildness last week was that I learned last Monday I was traveling to Phoenix for several days this week for a program and a conference. I flew home on the red eye last night…and probably had my worst travel experience of all time. The flight was supposed to go at 12:15 AM. I got to the airport really early, simply because I no longer had a room at the hotel and had nothing to do. But the flight was delayed arriving and we didn’t take off until after 1 AM. I did not sleep a wink on the flight, which arrived an hour late. Luckily, I had requested car service, knowing that I would be too exhausted to drive home. The one thing I didn’t count on, however, was the we had been hit with our first winter “storm” and there were accidents EVERYWHERE due to snow and ice. What shoudl have been a 45 minute trip from the airport took almost three and a half hours!!!! It was absolute madness.

I came home, called out of work and slept for a few hours. I had wanted to only sleep a bit and then stay up and go to be early tonight but my exhaustion got the better of me and I went back to sleep for a few hours. Now I am up, catching up on email and church work, and listening to a wicked wind blow outside.

The meeting went well. The policy manuals weren’t three-hole punched or bound but I brought the punch and people could do it themselves if they wanted. If not, they were still in a nice folder that would hold everything with no problem.

This meeting is always amazing to me. Three years ago, our team was tiny and was pretty much one ministry. We have grown to about 25 people and into a ministry with multiple components and leaders. I have to admit, too, that I am so thankful to God for raising up the leadership of this group. The vision he gave me for this ministry can only come to fruition through them and their teams. They are such a dedicated group – who care deeply for the children and youth and for our church overall.

It has been a hectic week, which turned into a very hectic weekend. Unfortunately, for several reasons, it doesn’t look like there is any end in sight in that regard. I think I am soon going to need a retreat weekend away!
